It is an absolute pleasure to announce the launch of RCGNIZED Products, a clothing label under the RCGNTN umbrella which I have created as another platform for creative expression. Many thanks to Hypethetic for this event which launched this label.
This design sees a play on the brand, Hypethetic. Taking inspiration from the brand’s vision right down to the pronunciation, the words ‘Hype’ and ‘Pathetic’ were separated to show a clearer distinction of the brand’s purpose- to open your eyes to other offerings not based on hype alone. The meaning is enhanced by taking the most hyped-up symbol at the moment and incorporating it into the final design.
It is reflective of the Singaporean blood lust for the latest in-thing; to possess it would deem oneself cool, trendy and up-to-date- a play on consumerism in this modern landscape of hectic lifestyles and material satisfaction.
